We are happy to announce that 12 WMM-supported films and filmmakers will be featured at the 2024 edition of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). Additionally, WMM’s award-winning new release MY STOLEN PLANET (dir. Farahnaz Sharifi), will make its Dutch Premiere.
Five films from our Production Assistance program will make their Dutch Premiere:
- APOCALYPSE IN THE TROPICS (dir. Ana Petra Costa);
- INTERCEPTED (dir. Oksana Karpovych);
- REAS (dir. Lola Arias);
- SUGARCANE (dir. Julian Brave NoiseCat & Emily Kassie); and
- SONGS OF SLOW BURNING EARTH (dir. Olha Zhurba)
Other films from our Production Assistance program include:
- LIGHT OF THE SETTING SUN (dir. Vicky Du; European Premiere);
- THE SHADOW SCHOLARS (dir. Eloise King; International Premiere); and
- WRITING HAWA (dir. Najiba Noori; World Premiere)
Three films from our Production Assistance Alum will also be screening:
- DAHOMEY (dir. Mati Diop; Dutch Premiere);
- UNION (dir. Brett Story & Stephen Maing; Dutch Premiere); and
- SABBATH QUEEN (dir. Sandi Simcha DuBowski; Dutch Premiere)
