Chicken & Egg announced the recipients of their 2022 (Egg)celerator Lab Grants and four of the feature documentary film projects selected are WMM-sponsored projects! Each grantee will receive $40,000 towards the production of their film. Congratulations to our filmmakers Gabriela Pena (HERE, THE SILENCE IS HEARD), Sierra Urich (JOONAM), Maricarmen Merino Mora (MATRYOSHKA), and Indira Cato.
And, for the first time ever, Chicken & Egg has also selected 10 Finalists to receive grants of $15,000. Congratulations to the six WMM-sponsored filmmakers: Clare Weiskopf (ALIS), Ningyi Sun (EAT BITTER), Maia Lekow & Christopher King (HOW TO BUILD A LIBRARY), Vicky Du (LIGHT OF THE SETTING SUN), Sasha Wortzel (RIVER OF GRASS), and Sharon Yeung & Natalie A. Chao (WE ARE VOLCANOES).
The 20 projects selected, all directed by emerging filmmakers, marks the largest sum that Chicken & Egg has ever directed towards the support of an (Egg)celerator Lab cohort and finalists in a single year. A well-deserved congratulations to all!
