The jury’s selections are in from Park City! Three WMM Production Assistance Program films took home awards:
- U.S. Grand Jury Prize: Documentary
SEEDS (dir. Brittany Shyne, prod. Danielle Varga) — An exploration of Black generational farmers in the American South, revealing the fragility of legacy and the importance of owning land. Danielle Varga also received Amazon MGM Studios Producers Award for Nonfiction for Seeds.
- U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award
LIFE AFTER (dir. Reid Davenport, prod. Colleen Cassingham) — Investigates Elizabeth Bouvia’s 1983 fight for the “right to die,” sparking national debate about autonomy and dignity.
- World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award for Freedom of Expression
COEXISTENCE, MY ASS! (dir. Amber Fares, prod. Rachel Leah Jones, Valérie Montmartin) — A personal and political one-woman show confronting audiences with tough truths about equality in Israel/Palestine.
