Summary
Women Make Movies (WMM) is a non-profit media organization based in New York City that supports women filmmakers. WMM is seeking a Full-time Program Assistant who will report to the Senior Program Associate. The Production Assistance Program assists women filmmakers who produce and direct independent films by providing fiscal sponsorship, workshops, seminars, and various online resources. The Program Assistant will support with the fiscal sponsorship program, including administering contributions and disbursements, handling production assistance administrative inquiries, filing reports, applications, and other materials, scheduling workshops and seminars, and other duties as assigned.
This position offers the opportunity to grow within a rapidly expanding program. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of administrative experience in a non-profit setting, and a strong attention to detail is required. Workshops and other in-person events often take place after 6PM so some evenings are required. Experience with artist services and/or fiscal sponsorship administration is a plus, but not a requirement.
Skills, Qualifications and Other Requirements:
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
- Knowledge of film production and/or financing.
- Ability to prioritize and problem-solve while handling multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Flexibility, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
- Commitment to feminism.
- Enthusiasm, a passion for WMM, and a sense of humor are a plus.

Women Make Movies’ Production Assistance (PA) Program provides support to emerging and experienced women directors in the production of new documentaries, fiction and experimental films.

This is a primarily remote position with some in-person requirements. The ideal candidate is based in the Metro NYC area (or within distance to get into NYC for a day), but we will consider exceptional candidates from other U.S. locations.
