WMM Production Assistance Projects MILISUTHANDO/Working Title (Director: Milisuthando Bongela), #MICKEY (Director: Betzabé García), PATHS OF FIRE AND WATER (Director: Viviana Gómez Echeverry), SILENT BEAUTY (Director: Jasmin López), PRAY AWAY (Director: Kristine Stolakis, Producer: Jessica Devaney) and SARA: A FEARLESS DREAM (Directors: Sara Khaki, Mohammad Reza Eyni) were chosen as Chicken & Egg (Egg)celerator Lab grantees. Additionally, Production Assistance Program filmmaker Stephanie Wang-Breal and Program alum Lana Wilson were announced as recipients of the 2019 $50,000 Chicken & Egg Award (previously known as the Breakthrough Filmmaker Award.)
Two WMM filmmakers, Ramona S. Diaz (UNTITLED RAMONA S. DIAZ FILM) and Michèle Stephenson (CHANGING SAME: THE UNTITLED RACIAL JUSTICE PROJECT), and one former WMM staff member, Daresha Kyi (MAMA BEARS) received 2019 Creative Capital Awards.
