We are thrilled to see our filmmakers and staff on the 2022 DOC NYC’s industry lists.
We are thrilled to announce that seven films supported by our Production Assistance Program will be screening at DOC NYC 2022, eight films will be participating in DOC NYC Industry Roundtable meetings, and two films have been selected for DOC NYC x VIDEO CONSORTIUM STORYTELLING INCUBATOR!
Brand new WMM acquisition LOVE, BARBARA (dir. Brydie O’Connor), which was also made with the support of our Production Assistance program, has been selected for the 38th IDA Documentary Awards Shortlist for Best Short! The film blends cinematic imagery and archival materials to offer a touching tribute to the pioneering lesbian experimental filmmaker, Barbara Hammer.
Starting October 7, the Metrograph Cinema in New York City is hosting a virtual retrospective of films by pioneering British filmmaker Sally Potter.
The Sundance Institute has announced this year’s grantees for the Sundance Institute Documentary Fund, and we are thrilled to share that more than 20% of the films selected are from WMM filmmakers and alum!
