Women Make Movies (WMM) returned this week to Montreal to participate in the RIDM Montreal International Film Festival. WMM’s Executive Director Debra Zimmerman, and Leonard Cortana, Inclusion Programs and Strategic Partnerships Manager at EURODOC, presented the opening keynote of the DOC FORUM: Toward a Fairer, More Inclusive Industry.
INTERCEPTED (dir. Oksana Karpovych), a powerful documentary supported by WMM’s Production Assistance program, is screening in the National Feature Film Competition. The film was also part of a highlighted program earlier this week, focusing on international co-production. A co-production between Quebec, France, and Ukraine, INTERCEPTED has garnered attention as one of the most remarkable documentaries of the year, winning multiple awards at various festivals. During the case study presented at the festival, the film’s producers shared insights into the keys to their success, discussing the driving forces behind their productive collaboration across borders.
