The Toronto International Film Festival kicks off September 2 and features five WMM films and filmmakers. Two films made with the support of the Production Assistance Program are in the line-up including the North American Premiere of RUSSIANS AT WAR (dir. Anastasia Trofimova); and the Canadian Premiere of THE BALLAD OF SUZANNE CESAIRE (dir. Madeline Ehrlich). We are also excited to see that TENDERNESS, a new film directed by long-time WMM filmmaker and former staff member Helen Lee (SALLY’S BEAUTY SPOT), will have its world premiere. Also having their world premieres are new films from Production Assistance Program alum Marielle Heller (NIGHTBITCH) and Distribution Program alum Ann Marie Fleming (CAN I GET A WITNESS?).
Congratulations to the filmmakers!
