This has been an exceptional year for Women Make Movies where 20 WMM films and filmmakers were eligible for documentary awards!
Nominated for Best Documentary is THE ETERNAL MEMORY, a new film directed by WMM PA alum Maite Alberdi, which centers on a Chilean couple coping with Alzheimer’s disease. And WMM Program Alum Christine Turner received a nomination for Best Short Documentary for, THE BARBER OF LITTLE ROCK, a film she co-directed with John Hoffman.
Women Make Movies congratulates the filmmakers on these Academy Award nominations. We are also elated to see that 3 of the 5 films nominated for Best Documentary, as well as 3 of the 5 films nominated for Best Picture, in this year’s Academy Awards® are directed by women!
