Since 1972, Women Make Movies has worked to facilitate the production, promotion and distribution of films by women.

ACQUISITIONS AND OUTREACH INTERN : Read More
Duties Include:
Working with the Outreach Manager and Marketing Manager to identify key audiences for our newest films and collecting contact information
Help with obtaining blurbs for our newest films from key academics
Participating in weekly check-in meetings with the organization’s other interns and staff regarding their work, as well as movie screenings and discussions
Working with the acquisitions team to screen incoming submissions and write screening reports on those films.
Assist with searching through festival/exhibition programs for new films we may want to distribute
Help manage incoming submissions in our acquisitions database
Desired Skills:
Experience with outreach software (though not required)
Internet research skills
Excellent writing skills, with emphasis on email communication

GRAPHIC DESIGN: Read More
Duties Include:
Working closely with the Marketing & Engagement Manager to pitch and create compelling imagery to support marketing campaigns on digital platforms, which may include, but is not limited to, social media, newsletters, e-banners, and others as needed
Researching graphic design trends
Adhering to brand guidelines
May include assisting with non-design-related marketing tasks, such as organizing assets, conducting research, and supporting administrative marketing needs as required.

Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and/or other design applications

Audience and content development to support new WMM films in distribution
Content promotion and distribution, including creating social toolkits, blog posts, and other promotional materials as needed
Sourcing and researching content to share on social feeds, in newsletters, and with leads
Researching marketing trends and emerging social platforms
Contribute to weekly meetings with other interns and WMM staff

Duties Include:
Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Excel, etc.) to support PA Program staff through a variety of responsibilities
Researching filmmaker resources and opportunities
Assisting in the coordination and promotion of webinar series
Screening in-progress and completed films for feedback
Desired Skills:
An interest in documentary filmmaking and/or fiscal sponsorship
Experience working in an administrative office setting or clerical experience

Duties Include:
Supporting the Finance & Administrative Lead with filing of digital documents in SharePoint
Supporting with customer service questions and communications as needed
Assist/research to resolve technical and administrative issues

Duties Include:
Supporting the Web & Digital Content Coordinator with the maintenance of wmm.com
Updating site with information from our mailing lists, blogs, and other sources
Using existing templates to create new pages for virtual screenings and other events
Expanding our image library by pulling images directly from films and through research
Updating and expanding resources related to films and filmmakers
Requirements:
Experience with WordPress or another CMS (Squarespace, Wix, etc.)
Having a good eye for imagery and design
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, mostly Adobe Premiere and Photoshop a plus
Knowledge of ALT text and experience with website copywriting a plus
Interest in women’s film and media, especially documentary

Duties Include:
Digitizing, encoding, and branding clips and trailers. Adding watermarks and logos to promo materials as requested by festivals and press
Digital media file maintenance and organization
Metadata entry and database management
Upload files to YouTube and Vimeo as needed
Assisting with customer inquiries as needed

Designing and editing of promo materials and DVD artwork

Please note this is not a production internship. All work is done remotely or in our Manhattan office.
Qualifications & Time Commitment
Qualified candidates will demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and work independently. Familiarity with internet research and the Microsoft Office suite necessary. Knowledge of and interest in feminist media a plus. Interns are asked to work a minimum of 15 hours per week during the school year and 24 hours per week in the summer. Duration is flexible to meet university requirements, but a minimum commitment of three months is optimal. All interns will be required to sign an Internship Letter of Agreement that outlines the duration and schedule of their internship.
Benefits & Compensation
All WMM internship positions are unpaid. However, interns qualify for and have access to a number of services and benefits: Local travel reimbursement, free workshop attendance, free access to screen titles from our collection, college or university course credit.
